I'm passionate about books and reading because I can get
lost in them. I too, like the escape which is why I very rarely read
nonfiction. I'm also a notorious daydreamer.
When I was in High School, a long, long time ago, I rarely read because I had a reading disability and the books we had to read in school were difficult. Shakespeare and Dickens were difficult to read and Steinbeck was too depressing. It wasn't until someone gave me an historical romance that I truly discovered that reading can be fun.
